Who we are

As a single mother, my life was not much different from the lives of many other women in my position: trying to “juggle” important and necessary things in life and still looking for happiness. When I was 38 and did not expect big surprises from life, I met a wonderful man, got married and moved to America. We didn’t date for a long time before getting married so we are learning about each other as we go through life, hand in hand for more than 17 years now. One thing we knew for sure in the beginning that we have in common is that we both love making crafts. I have an “Art and Craft” education and have worked as a fashion designer for more than 14 years. From time to time I challenge myself trying something new. Making jewelry was one of these “experiments”. It all started completely unexpected. I made a couple of outfits for my summer vacation and was looking for necklaces that would complement it. Since I couldn’t find the color, material, size and price I was looking for I decided to make my own. To be honest, those first couple of necklaces that I made looked TERRIBLE!!!
I swallowed my pride and after the vacation I began to learn about jewelry: different styles, materials, tools, etc. I also studied how to make jewelry: different techniques and tips from jewelry designers. The more I learn, the more it fueled my interest. A hobby just turned into “obsession”!!! I never planned to sell my jewelry or my other crafts. Everything was always created just for me, my family and friends. My first sale experience was when the local rescue sent a plea to help raise a fund for a dog who needed expensive orthopedic surgery… I am very happy that I was able to contribute. Watching how this dog was able to walk pain free was PRICELESS and very inspiring… This is how my shop was born! Sales at local fairs were more than successful, which not only gave me the ability to pay the vet bills of my own senior pets, but also to do something that is very close to my heart: to support animals in need in our local shelter.
Now it’s time to expand horizons in my business and “let it go” online. My business partner in this new step is my baby sister, although she is sometimes “a pain in my neck” like any younger sister… she is my best friend and a great help because she is a computer geek and in general is a “very smart cookie”. This is a new experience for us and we are learning as we go.
Personally, I am a big fan of the “rustic” type of jewelry, I love making it and I love wearing it. I also have some experience working with more delicate jewelry like real 18 carat gold plated metal. From time to time I learn something new so in the future I can present new styles of jewelry. If you are looking for a non-expensive gift or simply want to have a final accent to your new outfit, take a look at items in my e-store⦠Let me know what you think!
If you are interested in making your own jewelry I also offer some “beading supplies” for making your own jewelry. Typically I buy all the items to make my own jewelry. However, sometimes I get “greedy” when I see incredible offer from my suppliers… Oh, it’s hard to pass by the best deal ever… and then I run out of the storage room… So I need to sell the extra supplies to get organized again.
